Day 1 Studios is proud to announce our latest AAA action title: Reign of Thunder.
Mech fans have been asking us for years to return to the genre and we’ve been listening. Reign of Thunder is an all new Mech IP being developed by the people who brought you the award-winning MechAssault series. We’ve been hard at work creating a hard-hitting, fast-paced, explosive action game with all the customization options you could ever want. i played mech 1 and 2 for xbox im a mech jkniue looking for a fix from what we can see the game looks epic enough but the question i have is where is the mech play style? i see an open field with not too much cover to run to when under fire one of the best things i found in mech was team work strats and the right person in the right mech all i can do is hope its crammed in there somewhere along with the beauty of a modern game. i for one will be tryin this game in hopes that i will find the fix for my never ending mech addiction. A05 will return to the battlefield

And great idea on starting a new IP, Mechassault fans will all know where it’s at,
but th enew name will bring in new faces,

Despite never being able to play MechAssault 1 and 2 on live, I still would have preferred a MechAssault 3 after waiting sense 2004 for a new Mech game.

I am huge fan of both MechAssault 1 and 2 and I think they were brilliant games. Mechassault 1 is definitely in my top 5 favorite Xbox and Xbox 360 Games of all time. This “Reign of Thunder” game looks great but it looks to be a PC only “multi-player” based game. I would have preferred a Mechassault 3 for Xbox 360, PC and PS3 with similar mechanics, story and multiplayer to Mechassault 1. I think there at least 1-2 million people who would want such a game and probably much more if its done well.

i do have to agree with firebladedragon tho…. why not just make mech 3. the fan base is there the hardcore junkies like myself have wanted it for what 7 years now. the day xbox servers went down was the end of more then a game it was the end of an era and for some the end of friendships. all in all im glad we get something mech but mechassualt 3 would still be king in my book

The great thing about Mech 1 and 2 are that you can pick them up and play them anytime and they never get old or boring. Plus the game mechanics are perfect. I still haven’t found a better and/or more fun game to play…online or off…Mechassault is one of a kind and one in a billion…plus the things they say “SQUISHED” “DEATH FROM ABOVE” is classic! Plus how they named the maps! It’s all of the little things that count! Ah the memories! From everyone laughing at WRATH MAGIK’s filthy mouth who never liked the game but couldn’t afford another one since that game must have came with his XBOX…then the one hillbilly guy who always got mad over little stuff…he was like 50 I think…can’t remember his name…but he took the game way too seriously LOL…GOOD TIMES! We need to have more!!!

Shame on you people giving Day 1 grief, how bout you put up the money to go buy back the rights to Mechassault and then fund all the developmental changes that would need to be done with all that’s accomplished thus far… I for one am more excited for this everyday and can’t wait to see where these devs, that gave us Mechassault ot begin with mind you, can do with tech that’s 10 years newer and with an IP that they can do as they please with… get that negativity the hell out of here!

I hope this game is close to mech 1. Mech two had the same great physics as mech one but the resupply and power armor took some of the greatness away from mech 1. As one of the origional ‘wall walkers’. I have been praying for a mech 3 since mech 2. More mechs, more levels, same style as mech 1. You guys will make huge $$ if you do that. Kit fox and Prometheus for life!

A bunch of Mech games are on the rise now, and i for one love it. I wan’t them back, if you don’t like what Day 1 is trying to do here, shame on you.

Awsome game looks amazing definatly will play and spread the word but i cannot stress this enough PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont allow people to buy power (like skipping to the best stuff in the game just because they have more money) it can really piss people off and unbalence a competative game like this (speeding up the process of ataining stuff is fine but skipping to the end not really). That is my only concern.

Good luck to you but i was hoping for a 360 exclusive mechassault 3 with a great story i am not a pc gamer nor do i like multiplayer only titles but i wish you the best.

Hmm
Free to Play is always scary
Multiplayer Only it looks, perhaps with a small training area offline
Part of what made MA so much fun was the story
Good luck, might check it out when done, but the list of Against is already growing.

anyway I hope this game would have a buffer defect that would allow us to mod our console.
you see Mechassualt was the sweet game that allowed us to softmod our xboxs:)

This…. this is just what I have always wanted. The original MechAssault was where Xbox Live gaming really blew up for me. All it needed, at the time, was Mech customization. I can’t wait.

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you people have a huge set of shoes to fill with this game, but here is an idea go buy the rights back to make a REAL MECHASSUALT game then get back to the gaming commuinty
